As part of our succession planning activities for the practice we are now looking for Salaried GPs who are interested in becoming our Partners of the future to help the practice keep moving forward to meet the ever-changing external environment and increasing patient needs. Our Partners have a reputation for being actively engaged in the wider primary care environment through ongoing involvement in the LMC, ICB, LLR Training Hub Board, Leicester City South PCN Board as well as a variety of University roles and we are keen to continue our external focus.
Working as part of a friendly, and supportive multi-skilled clinical team you will have the opportunity to get involved in teaching as well as other areas of particular interest to the practice such as substance misuse, minor surgery, group consultations.
- A key part of creating a supportive environment for our clinicians is the shared coffee break scheduled on the rota each morning. Feedback from our GPs and wider clinical team highlights how valuable this is in creating a sense of team and allowing time to relax and chat or ask for advice about patients from each other. We also run monthly meetings for our Salaried GPs with two Partners to support sharing of information and listening to feedback and new ideas.
- We have invested in building our clinical team over time to reflect the needs of our patients and in addition to our GPs, we have a large team of experienced practitioners including sexual health nurse, care home nurse, paramedic, pharmacists, and our practice nurses who manage diabetes, COPD and asthma. We have also developed specialised admin roles such as Safeguarding Officer, Insurance Officer and Patient Liaison who support the clinicians. As a member of the Leicester City South PCN, our patients also have support from our PCN pharmacists, social prescriber, physiotherapist, paramedic, nursing associate and mental health practitioners.
- As one of the leading training practices within the City, we actively promote the needs of inner city patients through our teaching activities with medical, pharmacy and nursing students. There are always opportunities to have a variety of students sitting in with you and for those interested in developing their teaching skills further, there are opportunities to work in support of our registrars or students. Our in-house educational programme allows plenty of opportunities to share learning and hear updates from colleagues, as well as presenting on your own areas of interest.
- Our practice ethos is for Partners and salaried GPs to share the clinical work proportionally based on sessions and to promote continuity of care where possible. We are currently operating a GP-led Total Triage model using AccuRx and continue to explore new technologies and smarter ways of working.
We offer a competitive, incremental, in –house salary scale reflective of years experience, annual / study leave package as well as inclusion in the practice MDDUS policy and eye care vouchers. We also provide an Employee Assistance Programme which is free for staff and family members to access and includes access to the Wisdom app. For the right candidate, there will be the opportunity to be considered for partnership in the future too.
If this sounds just the type of practice you want to help take forward, please email your CV with a covering letter to Philippa Guy, Business Manager (Philippa.Guy@nhs.net). Informal visits are encouraged so please let us know if you would like to visit us to find out more. Closing date for applications 10th July 2026.
