Wellbeing resources for General Practice
As we continue to face overwhelming pressures in general practice, we encourage practices to focus on their own team’s wellbeing and you dont need to struggle alone. Stress and burnout can effect people differently and at different times of their personal and professional life.
The LMC is here to support GPs and your teams, which is a confidential support service provided by the LMC Cases lead or another experienced member of the team.
There is also a range of other organisations which might be more suitable if its related to specific matters.
- BMA 24/7 confidential counselling and peer support services to networking groups and wellbeing hubs with peers
- NHS practitioner health service is a free, confidential NHS primary care mental health and addiction service with expertise in treating health & care professionals.
- non-medical support services such as Samaritans .
- Doctors in Distress also provides mental health support for health workers in the UK, providing confidential peer support group sessions.
- The Cameron Fund solely supports General Practitioners and their dependants. They support GPs who are suffering from financial hardship and those who are facing it. They can contribute to living expenses, professional subscriptions, retraining costs, minor property repairs and other essential expenditure.
- NHSE Primary care coaching scheme:
- Looking After You Too – coaching about you and your wellbeing
- Looking After Your Team – coaching about you and your team
- Looking After Your Career - coaching about you and your career
