BLS training during Covid19 period

The LMC has received several queries relating to BLS training during the Covid period. We have sought clarity from the CQC, who have provided the following response.

Our CQC national clinical advisors have updated the mythbuster and guidance around training to say that online training updates for BLS are an acceptable route for providers to use as evidence due to the constraints of the pandemic.

This was agreed following a recent webinar put on jointly by the RCGP and the UKRC.

Ultimately, it is for the provider to assure themselves (and CQC) that they have taken the necessary steps to ensure their staff have the required skills and knowledge to respond to emergency situations.
